I get asked a lot why someone should choose leather over modern synthetic materials like nylon or polyester. Don’t get me wrong, those have their place, but for an adventurer, leather offers something those fabrics can’t: a soul.
- Durability that Ages with You: Unlike plastic buckles that can snap or zippers that can snag on a twig, leather is resilient. If you scratch it on a rock, it doesn’t ruin the pouch; it just adds a "battle scar" that tells a story.
- Weather Resistance: A well-conditioned piece of leather naturally repels water. While I wouldn't recommend taking it for a swim, a bit of rain or mist isn't going to hurt it.

- Honest Materials: I love using genuine hide because it connects us back to the earth. There’s no mystery about what it’s made of. It’s just high-quality material and hard work.

That’s why I use the saddle stitch method. It’s a bit slower: I do it one step at a time, by hand: but it’s much stronger than a machine stitch.
